LMIS ( Land Management Information System)
The Land Records Computerisation is a 100% central government sponsored project under the Ministry of Rural Development, Govt. of India with basic objective of :
Providing facilities for modernization of survey and settlement operations, printing of survey maps, reports/documents, storage, copying and updating of land and crop records using, among other things, latest science and technology inputs. Providing data for land based planning activities by various Departments and agencies by developing GIS applications.
Improving accuracy of surveys and enabling convergence of various survey data, including that of Survey of India.
Strengthening revenue machinery at village and immediate supervisory levels on a selective basis to make the work load of these functionaries manageable.
Implementing a Comprehensive Land Information System in order to have "sync" between attribute data with graphical details in order to enable land owners access complete information about the land and its geometry.
The LMIS and the mutation module, developed by Software Development center (SDU) Pune is a system meant to update and maintain Record of Rights (RoR) across the state of Maharashtra. Currently the RoR data is captured at tahsil level and it is planned to roll it out to the village level and consolidated to district and state level for MIS purpose. The security and legal sanctity of the computerised RoR is ensured with the help of biometric device.
LMIS software is developed under Windows platforms and it is based on Client- Server Concept. It is developed in Visual Basic 6.0 under Windows 2000 on Client. The database lies on RDBMS DB2UDB 7.2 under Linux 7.2 on Server.

PCIS ( Property Card Information System)
Land Records
Computerisation Project (LRC) has been jointly implemented by Software
Development Unit (SDU), NIC, Pune and Office of the Settlement Commissioner,
Land Records in Maharashtra State. SDU, Pune has developed Property Card
Information System (PCIS ver 3.0) under UNIX platform as a part of LRC Project.
This software was basically used for data entry of Property Cards in Urban
areas.
This software was implemented in all the districts of Maharashtra. This software was used by all districts and information pertains to Property Cards of Urban areas were fed to the computers.
At Pune district, LINPCIS is being used at all the three city survey offices and online mutations are also being taken on the property cards. It is also used all TILR offices for distribution of property cards.
